Early voting for LaSalle County residents will be held from February 23, 2023 to April 3, 2023 8 am to 4:30 pm; Monday through Friday; March 11, 18, 25 and April 1, 2023 8 am to 12 pm (noon) Saturday, March 16, 2023 8 am to 7 pm Thursday and April 3, 2023 8 am to 4:30 pm
Important Dates for Election
- January 3, 2023 - first day for military/overseas to apply for an absentee.
- January 4, 2023 - first day to accept a vote by mail Applications.
- February 23, 2023 - first day to mail vote by mail ballots / first day for grace period registration/voting.
- March 7, 2023 - last day to register to vote or change the address.
- March 27, 2023 - last day to accept applications to vote for military and overseas voters.
- March 30, 2023 - last day to accept a vote by mail application.
- April 3, 2023 - last day for early voting in the office of the Election Authority.
- April 4, 2023 - last day for grace period registration/voting.
- April 4, 2023 - election day - exercise your Right to Vote.
- April 6, 2023 - voter Registration Re-opens.
Identification Needed When Registering in Person
If registering to vote in person, residents must display two pieces of identification. Neither needs to be a photo ID, but one must include a current address. Acceptable forms of ID include:
- Illinois driver’s license
- Illinois state ID
- Employee or student ID
- Credit card
- Social Security card
- Birth certificate
- Utility bill in applicant's name
- Mail postmarked to the applicant
- Valid U.S. passport
- Lease or rental contract
If you miss the deadline for voter’s registration, you're still eligible to register and vote at the same time because of Grace Period Voting. See below for a link to information on Grace Period Voting in LaSalle County.
Early Voting: Skip the Election Day lines and vote early at the LaSalle County Government Center, 707 E Etna Road, Ottawa, IL 61350.
Grace Period Registration and Voting: Didn’t register by the deadline? Not to worry! During the early voting period, you are eligible for grace period registration.
