April 1, 2025- Consolidated Election
The first day candidates may circulate petitions to qualify as a candidate for a City of Peru official position is Tuesday, August 20, 2024 [10 ILCS 5/10-4].
Offices of Mayor, Treasurer, City Clerk, 1st Ward, 2nd Ward, 3rd Ward and 4th Ward are included in this consolidated election.
Beginning August 20th, election packets can be picked up at the City Clerk's Office between the hours of 8:00 am-3:30 pm.
Completed petitions and supporting documentation must be filed at the office of the Peru City Clerk between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. November 12, 2024, and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. November 18, 2024.
Multiple filings at 8:00 a.m. on November 12th and 5:00 p.m. on November 18st for the same office will result in a lottery for ballot position. If necessary, lottery for ballot position will be conducted on November 20th at 9:00 a.m.
