The office of Corporation Counsel is to serve as legal advisor of the city and of all committees, commissions, boards and officials of the city and shall render advice on all legal questions affecting the city.
Attorney Scott Schweickert has served as corporation counsel for the City of Peru since 2014. In October 2022, the office of corporation counsel created to be an executive office of the city.
